CBC Radio One broadcasted an interview with Melanie C today, which was recorded February 27th, the day after the final Spice Girls Gig. Melanie spoke about the Spice Girls World Tour, the influence of the group on pop culture and how she came to the Spice Girls.
She also talked about how it is to be a solo artist with full responsibility, about the changing music industry and of course about her latest album "This Time".

Melanie C talked to Stefanie from CHUM FM in Toronto 2 days ago. She talked about the Spice Girls Tour and cleared up the rumour about touring with Emma and Mel B. Mel confirmed that she will be touring in Canada this May and she also discussed her single "Carolyna" and her album "This Time". Melanie also mentioned Bryan Adams, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears and Amy Winehouse in this interview.

"I'm back! Wow, what a crazy few months I've had.

The Spice Girls tour has been amazing, I've really enjoyed being back on stage with the girls. We've had such a great time. Thank you to everybody who came along to the shows.

Having the chance to do acoustic shows in LA & New York was fantastic too. It helped me get my fix of Melanie C, I was missing her (no disrespect Sporty!!).

Well it's 2008 and I'm really excited that 'This Time' will be released in Canada on 8th April. I'll be touring there in May and me & the boys can't wait!
Who knows - we might get to do some other gigs along the way too so keep checking the website for any updates.

"It was an emotional night at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto this evening as the Spice Girls performed the final show in their record-breaking tour. And Melanie C got a huge cheer when she gave the show a final boost of Sporty Spice Girl Power by performing a spectacular back-flip on stage.
After 47 incredible performances, the curtain came down on The Return Of The Spice Girls show tonight, with Emma, Geri, Mel B, Melanie C and Victoria all in tears at the end of the night."

The Canadian Music Channel MuchMusic revealed on their website that Melanie C will be visiting the show "MuchOnDemand" next Wednesday (Feb. 27th) to give a live interview. "The Spice Girls would love to perform for former South African President Nelson Mandela, but said on Monday they had not yet been formally asked to be part of his planned 90th birthday celebrations in June.
During a backstage interview with Reuters before the group's sold-out New York concert, the five members of the British pop group -- Geri Halliwell, Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm and Emma Bunton -- were enthusiastic about the idea.
Britain's Daily Mirror reported last week that Mandela was eager for the Spice Girls, who reunited late last year for a greatest hits album and world tour, to perform at a planned concert in London's Hyde Park.
'We're great friends of Mr. Mandela and we would love to perform for him again,' said Chisholm, a.k.a. Sporty Spice."
