SPECIAL ANNIVERSARY PHOTOBOOK 2009
"2009 will be the fifth anniversary of the Melanie C Fans' Charity Network being formed, not only that but it'll also be 10 years since the release of Melanie's first solo material. So, to acknowledge and celebrate these landmarks we want to produce a very special photobook and we need your photos!
If some of you have the 'Forever Spice' book which came out a few years ago, that's the kind of final item we want to have. The photographs need to be of high quality and resolution to be able to be reproduced for the A4 sized book.
We're looking to collect photos from 1999 to present, the book itself won't be going to print until next spring but we need that time to pick the best and most appropriate pictures which represent Melanie and/or significant events in her career, as well as designing the layout, writing the text and everything in between!
If you think you have a classic Melanie photo or photos which you want to be included in this exciting project, then please send a smaller version (no wider than 500 pixels, portrait or landscape) to charity_network@hotmail.com
Photos can be of Melanie and the band, Melanie by herself, band members, pictures taken before, during or after gigs and if they are Spice photos then all we ask is that the focus is on our girl! ;)
Please note that by submitting a photo this unfortunately doesn't guarantee your picture will be published, but if it is then we require the highest resolution image possible - please don't send a picture if you don't have it in high quality.
If we use your photos, you will get a full credit at the back of the book and you will also have the chance to pre-order and guarantee your copies before they go on general sale, as only a strictly limited amount are being made.
Oh and then there's the small matter of the special birthday calendar production, starting with you lot submitting your photos in August...so be on your marks!

They must be pictures taken by yourselves, unfortunately with professional photos you have to pay copyright etc. Anyway, fan pics normally capture the perfect gig moments anyway!
Scanned pics from before the digital age will be fine as long as they can be of a good size (blimey seems like we've been in the digital age for longer than 10 years!) and please only email smaller versions so we can take a look - if we like what we see, I'll be in touch for the biggies!
You can send as many as you think are good enough, there isn't a closing date as such at the moment so you can still take pics if you're seeing Melanie at Pride etc but around October/November we'll have to draw it to a close so we can get designing - so plenty of time at the mo."
MMVA08: MELANIE C'S MESSAGE!
[Editor's Note: Melanie C is preparing for a proper Toronto "love"fest - she'll be presenting an award at this Sunday's MMVAs, PLUS she's performing at Pride Toronto in two weeks. When we asked Melanie to guest blog for us, the super sweetheart took it one step further and HANDWROTE an entry for us, which we've scanned and typed up for you to enjoy, right here!]
I'm so excited to be back in Toronto, especially for such a great event. The MMVAs are going to be fantastic this year. I'm really looking forward to seeing Rihanna, Simple Plan and NKOTB perform! A lot of the artists are new to me so it's going to be fun checking out some Canadian talent.
I've got to tell you about my tour - it was amazing! We started up in Montreal, then played Ottawa, Toronto, London, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver - PHEW! Me and my band had a wicked tour bus, so we really got to see your beautiful land. Highlights included Lake Superior, The Rockies and a BEAR! That's mighty impressive to an English girl...
I had a lot of fun meeting my Canadian fans (and their big fishes!). I had two great supports - Adam Crossley, a very handsome singer-songwriter - his voice is sublime - and a very cool band called Spirits. I thought they were quite Killers-esque. If you haven't heard their stuff I recommend you check them both out on MySpace!
I was in Switzerland last weekend performing at the opening of the Euro 2008 Championships. England didn't make it through so we're all disappointed about that - you know us Brits and our soccer!
I've seen some amazing gigs recently - I saw Sir Paul McCartney in Liverpool. Liverpool is my home city and we are the European capital of culture this year, so it was a really special event. He played loads of Beatles tunes, as you can imagine the crowd were going wild!
I saw Foo Fighters at Wembeley Stadium, too. Dave Grohl is god. They were incredible! Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin joined them on stage for the encore - it was such a privilege to be in the audience!
I'm back in Toronto to play at Pride on Saturday, June 28! We're on the Wellesley Stage at 6pm - so if you haven't seen me do my solo thing, come and check us out!

Next week she will be flying to Canada to attend the Much Music Video Awards on June 15th as well as to film a new video. Fans will be delighted to hear that the video will be for 'Understand'.
Then, after a brief trip back to the UK she'll be back to Toronto to perform a full, 60 minute set at the city's Pride event on June 28th at 6pm."

INFO ABOUT UEFA EURO 2008 CONCERT IN ZÜRICH
What? UEFA Euro 2008 football championship - Opening Ceremony
Where? In the official "Public Viewing" area of the "Fan Zone" located on the Sechseläutenplatz at Bellevue Square in Zürich, Switzerland
When? Friday June 6, Ceremony 20:00 to 2:00; Melanie C is on stage at 22:00 (performance scheduled for 1h 15min)
Price? Free concert for all visitors
Three big screens, a grandstand, plus standing room for 45,000 spectators are available for enjoyment of the collective football experience (the term for this in German is "Public Viewing").
Radio 11, which was launched especially for the football championship, will be broadcasting this event live via Cable (entire Switzerland), FM 90.1 MHz & 104.9 MHz in Zürich and worldwide via Webstream. Unfortunately there are no official plans for a TV-transmission.
